Here is there name and link. I figure, if you have to speak on someone, then at least give people the chance to see for themselves. Maybe I'm crazy or a little to outspoken. http://www.soundersfc.com/

MLS Crazy names - The Sounders are you for real

I get that teams nowadays like to name their sport franchises after something that is important to the area or city. It makes sense, a little weird, but it makes sense. You want something to bind them all together.

However, enough already. I don’t believe teams like the Chicago Bears would feel any different if they called themselves the Chicago Wind. Then again the San Diego Padres the San Diego Wildfires or Illegal Immigrants. Please enough with this. Just name a team because it sounds good. Period.

Teams like the Houston Texans, Washington Nationals, and now the stupid sounding Seattle Sounders. What!!!? The Sounders. I get it. It’s because of the Puget Sound. Aw, that’s cute, but enough already. There’s nothing wrong with naming your teams after random wild life, or natural disasters. It’s nice, it’s great. Plus it allows people in other cities actually want to root for you. Like the Dallas Cowboys have a fan base all over America.

But who in their right mind would root for the Sounders, living in Saint Louis. No one. In case you don’t know, the Sounders is a new MLS team. But I notice the MLS have a bunch of random names. My hometown has the Crew. Because “they’re the hardest working team in America.” Stop It!! That’s awful. They look like a bunch of bees, so I figure go with the Hornets or something. DC, Tornoto, Salt Lake, Dallas, and some random team named Chivas (wherever that is), don’t even have nicknames. I guess because world cities do it that way. Good idea MLS do something that we as America even more don’t care about. You want us to care and you do that. Wonderful. Just great. Then there are the Galaxy, Dynamo and Revolution. What is a Dynamo?

Who sits around making these names up. I can’t believe these people have important jobs and create and think of stuff. How do they make money. And so much money that they can buy teams and put dumb names to them.

So maybe it’s just the MLS? Naw, it’s everywhere, but this particular sport, seems to love crazy sounding names. I guess they figure it’s one way to make a name for themselves. I just hope that some of the future teams (Philly, Portland, and Vancouver) will have great team names. Then again, if you have a great name and no one watches your sport, do any one really care.

So thanks Sounders for the unbelievable bad name. The Sounders, you can do better then that. Then again, as I look at the rest of your MLS brethren, maybe not.

And now there is four

Anyone excited about this year’s final four. I am, because we’re seeing some of the top teams all year long duke it out. I’m in the Big Ten conference so it’s great to see a representative be in the final four. So many analyst was hating on the Big Ten and how we suck. However, we’re not that bad of a conference and our best can do a good job and be in the final four. Take that nation!

Sorry I had to say that but we’ve been taking a lot of heat. Our best, Michigan State beat the Big East best, Louisville on a neutral floor. Case closed. We’re not that bad.

Now we get to see North Carolina take on Villanova while UConn and MSU battle it out in Detroit. Speaking of which, that city needs help. They need an influx of cash to go into that city and state, because right now, they’re dying and is strapped for cash. So please, Husky, Tar Heel, and Wildcat fans….join the Spartans and go to that city. I hear there’s all kinds of entertainment for you to sink your teeth into, so please by all means do it. Have fun, and put some cash into that area.

Now for some picks. UNC will beat Villanova, but it will be close. Not like Nova-Pitt close, but it should be an excellent game. The Tar Heels can go up and down or play set offense. It doesn’t matter. As long as no one is injured, then they should win. It’s very rare to see that many future pros decide to stay. I hope more young people do this for their respective teams, but we’ll see.

I also believe that the much malign UConn will beat MSU. Not by much, this should also be a great game. Sparty is much better then expected, but I think the Huskies are really on point. Also, MSU will turn the ball over. Just you wait and see. UConn is better then Louisville, so Michigan State will find out how tough it is to go up against that team.

As for the champion, UNC 75, UConn 70. It’ll come down to free throws at the end when UNC is ahead and the Huskies will have to foul to slow the game down. But it should be a classic. Not Magic/Bird classic, but a great game nevertheless.

Enjoy yourselves and stay tuned.
